Celebrations are in order

We did it!  Circumnavigated the South Island with Stewart Island also for good measure.  What an amazing experience.  Anything that could have happened, did happen from gale force winds, to heavy seas, torrential rain, freezing cold temperatures, Gen Set on the blink so no heating, wet feet, wet bottoms, a wee bump in the night, lost and found (paddle boards), torn bimini, ... and we are still smiling and planning the next adventure ... and the First Mate is now a serious drinker!

Congratulations Commodore and Skipper and of course Mimu - you have done us proud!

Keeping the blog alive - lack of wifi has made it incredibly difficult at times but with collective contributions we have had so much fun putting this together.

We have done more motor sailing in the South Island than we ever could have imagined.  Either too much or too little wind.

Here we are genoa close hauled, no engine ... pure silence, gentle seas, soft motion down below and still trucking along at 6 knots.

Nephew John who was a dab hand in the galley and chief cuppa maker.

Safely on anchor at Sandy Bay, Abel Tasman,
enjoying a celebratory drink or three.

Amazing what women, who are not wives, can get away with!!

Once Cam put on that Bloody Sexy apron ... he was putty in our hands!  Sending him back to you Gail with new found skills.
