Virtues/Rewards of a great skipper

1.    Stays calm and level headed at all times.

2.    Never ever, ever, ever shouts/yells/raises his voice to the Commodore nor Mermaid No. 2

3.    Communicates clearly and decisively at all times.

4.    Always looks sharp in his uniform (mermaids quite partial to a bit of uniform)

5.    First up to turn on heating so mermaids are always toasty warm.

6.    Brings the morning coffee/tea to respective mermaids.

7.    Has unlimited patience, kindness and smiles for his mermaids.

8.    Always does as the Commodore asks ... without question, and to a lesser extent Mermaid No. 2!

9.    Leads methodically, safety conscious, cheerful, fair and seranades nightly with sea shanties.

10.  Humourous, compassionate, empathetic, appreciative.

Letting go of all those responsibilities Skipper!

1.    Receives daily rations from 5 star galley.

2.    Nightly 5pm cheese and red wine delivered on time.

3.    Devoted mermaids who listen and who try ... not to answer back.

4.    Personal laundry done on a regular basis (washed, dried and folded with lavender)

5.    Awesome company that stays awake on the night watches.

6.    Well coiffed mermaids at all times ... no curlers, no fags ...

7.    Crew always ready at a moment's notice to stand to attention.

8.    Skilled mermaids who can furl that genoa out ... and in again ... and maybe out some more.

9.    Highly disciplined, respectful chef, helmsman, bosun, first mate.

10.   A man who thinks he's in charge of his boat has a very smart Commodore.
