South westerly blowing 35 knots!

Safely tucked up in Paterson's Inlet exploring while the bitterly cold south westerly funnels through whipping up the whitecaps.  Time for the next layer of merino and ski gear.  It's cold on deck.

Went on a stunning bush walk to the remains of the whaler's base Kaipipi Shipyard. Norwegian, operated for 4 years catching and processing 1,000 whales per season.

Following the maritime forecast closely in readiness to set sail across the Roaring Forties back to the South Island hopefully next Tuesday or Wednesday.

Amazing contrasts - from stormy skies ...

... to picturesque, tranquil waters

Intrepid crew ... air temp 5 degrees, water freezing!

Georgie and Guy's last day before ferrying back to Bluff and driving home to Christchurch

Fossicked around the remains of Kaipipi Shipyard

Propellers, boilers, concrete foundations - a wonderful slice of history to be experienced

Stewart Island Bus Shelter!!

Stumbled across this random piece of artwork in the bushes - would love to know the story behind it?
