Exploring Paterson Inlet
Paterson Inlet - a massive harbour of calm, sheltered waters. Picturesque little islands with names such as Refuge Island, Crayfish, Bravo, Groper ... the boys caught 3 blue cod and hooked a 1.5m to 2m shark!! Passed the remnants of a whaling station, bush right to the water's edge, chorus of bird song, the odd bach peeking through native bush, seals sunbathing on the beach, penguins and shags. Watermaker at work producing 100 litres of water per hour for our hot showers. Anchored 5pm at Glory Cove. Another awesome day aboard Mimu. It's cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey! Guy doing a quick keel haul in 11.7 degree waters Fillets of straight from the ocean blue cod, pan fried with leek and creme fraiche Ahoy me Matey!! Tied up to a wannabe palm tree. Practicing our "stern to" anchoring ready for Fiji (or maybe the fiords first) This is how the rats get aboard!!
